Dodge, Fall

We're having an extended Fall here in Minnesota. The leaves are on the trees a bit longer this year. The temperatures are mild and the autumn light is beautiful.A painters play ground. I was lucky today to paint at a favorite spot in Eagan Minnesota .Dodge Nature. It's a wonderful area, and it seems no matter what the weather or light conditions I can always find something pleasing to paint.

Grand Marais translates from French to "great marsh," and the town with that name hosted a plein air event recently at the scenic spot in Minnesota. The winners?
The Grand Marais Art Colony sponsored the event, which centered on the two bays formed by the marsh and Lake Superior. The winners of Plein Air Grand Marais 2014 are headed by Bob Upton in First Place. Second Place went to Paula Gustafson, and Third was won by David Gilsvik. Lisa Stauffer and Andy Evansen took Honorable Mention awards.
